Michigan Lottery Online
In 2014, Michigan became one of the first three states to offer online lottery games and from February 2016, players were able to purchase lottery tickets online for most of the state lotteries, along with Powerball and Mega Millions. Online Michigan Lottery sales began in 2014, which allowed players to buy online scratch-off games, as well as draw games like Powerball, Mega Millions, and Lotto 47. Today, 68 different games are available to play online, most of them being instant-win games or casino games.
Michigan is now home to an array of sports betting websites. Online sportsbooks allow players from across the state to take part in betting on sports events.
Online sports betting launched on Jan. 22. Apps approved for launch included DraftKings, FanDuel, Golden Nugget, William Hill, Barstool, TwinSpires, BetMGM, BetRivers, and Wynn. Fox Bet launched on Jan. 29.
But more are on the way. Parx Casino are expected to be on their way to Michigan soon, as well as FireKeepers, Four Winds and Soaring Eagle. At market maturity, Michigan sports betting will feature 15 sites.
Kalamazoo Man Wins $1OO,OOO Powerball PrizeA Kalamazoo man has financial peace of mind after winning $100,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Powerball game.
Gunther Hega, 57, matched four of the white balls and the Powerball – 01-19-31-48-61 PB: 06 – in the July 27 drawing to win a $50,000 prize. Thanks to the Powerplay, his prize was multiplied by two for a $100,000 prize. He bought his winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.
“I play a little bit on the online draw games each week,” said Hega. “I’ve won some small prizes, and usually get notified they were transferred to my account. On Sunday, I got an email saying I needed to visit the Lottery office to make a claim. At first, I thought it could be a hoax.
“After double checking my numbers, I realized what I was reading was the real deal: I had won $100,000!”
Hega visited Lottery headquarters Thursday to claim the big prize. With his winnings he plans to complete some home repairs, donate to charity, and then invest the remainder.
“Winning makes everything easier. It’s a relief to know that I can take care of some things at my home before I retire,” Hega said.
