EuroMillions Tickets

To play EuroMillions, you need to select five main numbers from 1 to 50 and two additional numbers (known as Lucky Stars) from 1 to 12. If you don't want to choose your own numbers, then you can take advantage of a 'Lucky Dip' option and have your numbers picked at random. Either way, your chance of winning any prize is exactly the same.

EuroMillions draws take place every Tuesday and Friday. Jackpots are never worth less than €17 million, and if nobody wins, the top prize will roll over to the next draw. The jackpot can keep growing until it reaches €210 million, at which point it is capped and any additional funds are diverted to the next-highest prize tier in which there are winners. The jackpot can stay at €210 million for four draws, but if it is still not won in the following draw (the fifth at the €210 million cap) then the full amount will roll down and be shared amongst winners in the next prize tier.

The jackpot cap was increased in February 2020 to €200 million, and this record amount was on won on Friday 11th December by a single ticket in France. The rules that were introduced in February means that the cap is now increased by €10 million to €210 million, paving the way for a new record to be set when that amount is finally reached.

The former jackpot cap of €190 million was won four times, including twice by UK players. Adrian and Gillian Bayford from the UK matched all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars in August 2012, winning a prize of £148.6 million, before a Portuguese player also scooped €190 million in October 2014 and a Spanish participant did the same in October 2017. A UK player matched all the numbers to win a prize worth £170 million on 8th October 2019, which was the first time that the jackpot had remained at €190 million for the maximum of five draws.

EuroMillions Prizes

To win the jackpot, players need to match all five main numbers and both Lucky Star numbers drawn. However, there are 12 other prize levels available, so even if you don’t win the jackpot you could still win a cash prize. The prize levels and odds of winning each are shown in the table below:

If you purchase a EuroMillions ticket from an offline retailer then it is important to note that you must make any claim for a prize in the same country in which you bought the ticket. For example, if you buy a ticket in France while on holiday, you would need to claim any prize that ticket won in France.

If you buy tickets online, your prize will automatically be paid into your account. Playing online also allows you to buy tickets at a time that suits you and stores your numbers safely so that you don’t need to worry about it being lost, stolen or damaged

UK Millionaire Maker

Millionaire Maker is a supplementary raffle that gives all EuroMillions players in the UK the chance to win £1 million in every draw. Players receive one unique Millionaire Maker code on their ticket for every line of numbers they purchase for the main draw. One winning code is selected at random on the night of each draw, and whoever has the matching code on their ticket wins £1 million. Entry to Millionaire Maker is included in the cost of entry for the main EuroMillions draw.

The odds of winning Millionaire Maker flcutuate depending on how many entries there are in a given draw, as one code is entered into the raffle for every line sold. The more players there are, the more codes there are in the raffle. Tuesday draws tend to attract fewer players so the odds of winning are better than in Friday draws. The table below shows the estimated odds of winning, based on the average number of entries for a standard draw at the minimum jackpot. More people tend to take part in EuroMillions as the jackpot increases in value, so these odds will change accordingly.

Lottery Euromillions Winning Numbers

EuroMillions HotPicks is an extra game which can be played on Tuesdays and Fridays. At a cost of £1.50 per line, HotPicks can be played separately from EuroMillions but uses the same five main numbers. The Lucky Stars are discounted.

You can choose from five different games in HotPicks – Pick 1, Pick 2, Pick 3, Pick 4 and Pick 5. You must then match all the numbers you select if you are to win the fixed prize. For example, if you play Pick 5 there are no prizes for matching one, two, three or four of the numbers you select – you must match them all. The following table shows the prizes for each game and how to win:
